Filter 필터

(2025.08.05-2025.08.10)
(Horanggasy Glasspolygon, Gwangju, Korea)

This exhibition holds an assemblage of overlapping perceptions. Each person carries their own way of reading and sensing the world. Then certain memories are preserved, some scenes are captured, and particular words are marked.

What we see may never be the original. Light passes through a membrane, and matter undergoes translation. Landscapes become altered, washed, and filtered.
The boundaries of space begin to dissolve. Things are no longer solid.
The “filter” becomes fluid, real-time, and embraces the viewers as part of it. It is not only how the artist experiences a new city, but also how the viewers encounter the artist’s circled, refracted gaze.

Every act of looking is a form of filtration: a soft-focus transformation, a slow development.
It is a refracted imagining, but not the flat beautification of a social media lens.
